Family Participation Agreement
This is the agreement a family member accepts before using their private family page.
1. What you are agreeing to
Your loved one's stories are recorded
Porchlight saves your loved one's voice, writes their words down, and prepares summaries, for you and for the staff who care for them.
Your private page
Your link is personal to you. On your page you can listen to their stories, read them, leave voice messages back, and order a printed book.
Your own recordings and details
Voice messages you leave are saved and played to your loved one. Your name, relationship, and contact details are stored so the community and Porchlight can reach you, including emails when new stories are shared.
How the content is used
Computer software, including artificial intelligence, transcribes and summarizes the recordings. Nothing is public, nothing is sold, and nothing is used for advertising.
2. You can opt out at any time
- Emails: one click on your email preferences page (linked in every email) stops them.
- Your consent: you can withdraw it on the same page. We stop emailing you and tell the community's staff.
- Your loved one's participation: you can ask the community to pause their sessions, and the staff will follow up with your family directly. Your loved one can also stop at any time by telling a staff member.
3. The record of your agreement
When you tap “I agree,” Porchlight saves the date, time, and device details of your tap as the record of this agreement, and shows it to the community’s staff.
